Haze doesn't help, but methinks digiscoping with a DSRL / Micro four thirds requires more practise! Photos were more magnified than phone pics, but not that sharp. Still, the Stonechats by Knights Bank hide were obliging. 2/4 #BirdingGear

Gulp, just switched from a bridge camera to micro four thirds (secondhand gear), and also got a digiscoping adaptor by SRB which I look forward to testing properly! Photo is a screenshot from a video. #BirdingGear

Anduve haciendo digiscoping porque no quise llevar la cámara.
Casita de pájaro carpintero detected.
Ví un carpintero bataraz chico pero tan enramado que me quedé nomás a disfrutar de su tac-tac.

Yesterday I went to Blue Mash Nature Trail to see an American Golden Plover. I need to learn more about digiscoping, because it was gorgeous in the scope

Nice prolonged view of the Spotted Crake at Sandwich this morning. Much better than the fleeting glimpse I had of the only other I’ve seen. Digiscoping tricky as facing into the sun, views were much better than the photo suggests….

I’m not much of a photographer, but I did get a nice digiscoping adapter for my iPhone. I’m proud of these. One from Point Pleasant, WV. The others from Baton Rouge, LA 🪶

Now cleverly attempting to disguise himself as a duck...
Pretty amazed that I was able to get these photos just by digiscoping with my cellphone camera. Such a cooperative pose from this fellow!

Limped my way down to the Hayling oysterbeds today to go grebe hunting. Bloody cold and a bit breezy but managed 4 species. 20+ Great Crested, 3 Black-Necked and singles of Red-Necked and Slavonian the last 2 Hants ✔️. Birds too distant and breeze too high for digiscoping attempts. #hantsbirds

The alternative of course is a new pair of birding specs. I l’ve had two pairs of varifoclas made up (one normal and one pair sunnies) with a tweaked prescription and altered VF zone so that I have very close focus at the very bottom of the glass for digiscoping.

El digiscoping permite observar fauna a largas distancias sin molestarla más de lo imprescindible. Estos osos se pusieron a tiro del móvil y el telescopio de Sergio Hernández en Asturias para una #observacióndelasemana 📸 redonda:

I woke up early today to see if I could spot some birds. Great decision. Hundreds of barnacle and brent geese, and shellducks. Delighted to see childhood birds that I had not seen in two decades; curlew and oystercatcher. Bad pictures to show how lousy my digiscoping skills are.

Having a bit of a catch up on editing digiscope videos.
Dark-bellied Brent goose showing off his best side - all of them!
Backworth Flash 13/2/25.
Digiscoped (approx 150m)
Not sure I would have remembered that dark "seam" up the back of the neck from an ID book.
