There are so many aspects of daily life that, if ignored, can be fatal for disabled people. As disabled people who have privileges and supports, we cannot take them for granted. Instead, we must advocate for such support to be universal." The title reads: "Why is disability important to think about when doing policy work?" The content states: "Disability is important to think about when doing policy work because disability fundamentally alters how people navigate society, so we must consider how any given policy can and does uniquely impact disabled people. Moreover, disability can affect anyone — and to any extent — during any stage of their life, so meaningful policy work must consider disability." The title reads: "What is one thing you want policy researchers to understand about disability?" The content states: "Disability will eventually impact everyone, directly or indirectly. It's important that we learn as much as we can about what policies best support disabled people."

Today is the national disability day of mourning to recognize the disabled victims of filicide. We need to stop making excuses for people who murder their disabled family members who they claim are better off dead.
