well #CycloneAlfred went and fizzled out in Moreton Bay after crossing over Straddy... no Cyclone hitting Brisbane, now it'll probably just dump rain on us for several days and cause flooding

For those who aren't aware i live in Brisbane, which is right in the path of #CycloneAlfred - the first Tropical cyclone to threaten the SthEast corner of #Queensland in over 50 years (the ocean off the coast is just to cold normally for them to exist. Panic buying has, of course, taken hold.

waiting for the cyclone, trying not to eat all the comfort food I bought. Bee hives strapped up. The black cockatoos were going nuts this afternoon, screeching "there is a fking cyclone coming" to each other. But they have all gone now. Waiting for the rain and wind.
