Simeon Brown is now big sad

because drivers have to slow down, and buses and cyclists are prioritised.

So his solution to solve car traffic on Pakūranga road today, is to remove a not-yet constructed cycleway

and, quite literally, another lane for cars.

Yesterday I joined the Sonning Common Cycleway Campaign Group for a ride to see the need for a safe cycleway linking Sonning Common and Emmer Green.

It was great to hear from local residents about how better cycling infrastructure can make journeys safer, greener, and more accessible for everyone.

Shropshire Council deputy leader has confirmed that the Castle Street two way cycleway (in red) has being axed from Shrewsbury's Station Gyratory changes.

Disappointing but not entirely surprised, the project seemed to be a bit of a hot mess. Lets do it properly next time.

I know this isn't the thrust of your thread, but what happens to the raised cycleway at the entrance of Lenthal Rd? Does it become the ramp to allow vehicles into that road? I'm not sure I'd like to cycle that if it's wet if so.

Theophile De Bockstraat, Amsterdam in 1979 and today. A quiet road these days but the cycleway provides a direct cycle route between two large busy parks, whilst also now closing some roads to through motor traffic, reducing local neighbourhood motor traffic levels

This is a highways design question. Poor drainage can happen with any type of highway. Typical of the news media to blame the cycleway. You get a much ragier culture war that way.

This isn't actually unique - I came across another "bridge to nowhere" when researching planning - a footbridge built over what had been intended to be a road, but was later changed to a cycleway, to an empty field because the developer on that side of the road/cycleway had gone bust.

I fancied a ride across the Jubilee Bridge, seeing as there's now a cycleway across it. But no.

Immediately outside the station is a bidirectional cycleway. Looks like good build quality. Doesn't go very far!

Secondary in next village draws fair % of pupils from E side of Cambridge city. Many cycle, 4-5 miles each way typically I suspect. Some teachers too. Cycleway all the way and toucan across one busy road they have to cross.

Came across a new-ish looking cycleway in Northolt (London Borough of Ealing). Part ok, part odd, part pointless.

Getting the bike ready for rides along the ocean front cycleway.
It’s about 25km long but unfortunately I’ll need to put on clothes. One day i hope to participate in a #wnbr #naturist #naked. What’s the best city for it? Paris, London, Barcelona?
