Albo not bringing Australian 'vibe' I'd expect from an Aus Labor PM
bsky.app/profile/prof...
Most notably AUKUS support, fossils approvals, expose structural inertia for vested economic & foreign policy interests.
No reinvestment in ABC, CSIRO, BOM, etc underscores Labor’s fails to recast after LNP
Australian democratic values (fairness, tolerance, the rule of law, and respect for institutions) glaringly at odds with the ethno-nationalist, anti-democratic tone of US MAGA politics
Reputation Lab ranked 60 leading economies
In 2025, Australia down from 8 to 11
US down to 48
Oh, Canada in 2nd

Because of the illogical “My country only emits 1%” argument, the misinfo that renewables are making bills go up, more misinfo that China, India, USA (her ordering, note India < USA) aren’t doing anything, and a claim CSIRO showed coal might currently be a bee’s dick cheaper than firmed renewables.

Jim was director when I was at CSIRO in Canberra, 1984-88. He was basically my boss for my first year when my advisor was away on sabbatical. A great guy, brilliant, competitive scientist, always up on the latest techniques. Those were exciting times in the early days of plant gene cloning.

A little bit of fun trivia ... the old Australian $50 note, also features Murriyang, the CSIRO Parkes radio telescope, and the first pulsar it observed.

You can see The Dish in the centre and the pulses on the left hand side of the note.

Thank you very much. Jim was Chief of the CSIRO Division of Plant Industry he retired in 2003. I was honoured to take up this role myself in 2013 - we then stepped up & created CSIRO Agriculture and Food based on the same principles as Jim’s institute. I am now retired but still supporting others.

Omg if their website is not fixed by the start of next year I will be mad.
Writing instructions for finding information was already hard enough. I want the Indigenous Calendar back the way it was or the CSIRO to have at least one Victorian calendar... I have issues
