An image featuring all six of the stickers I have made, each a different iteration of Buzzy/Captain Cortex. While all of them are meant to be diminutive in stature, they all differ in terms of their appearance. There’s, of course, Buzzy who wears a more military cadet style green uniform with an oversized brown aviator jacket, green hat, black headset and big round glasses. Unlike most of the other designs, he has tiny black dots for eyes. The second design is a Captain Cortex design by Sue Nichols. He looks very similar to Buzzy in terms of his facial features, but wearing a red orange pilot jumpsuit, white gloves, a blue hat, and a similar headset, though without an antenna. To be clear, the original image does not have actual colors just lineart. I just added the same colors as the audio animatronic based on the Colossal Pictures version. Speaking of which the third one is what the Colossal Pictures version of Cortex looked like. Again, he has a red orange jumpsuit, white gloves, a blue hat and a headset with one antenna in each ear and a mic on the left ear. His face is different with a more bottom heavy structure and more Hannah Barbera style eyes. The fourth is another Cortex design based on the Steve Kirk version. This one has a silver helmet with wings, yellow goggles, and a red suit with white gloves and pants. Overall he has a more gremlin-like appearance. The fifth Cortex design is one featured in the Wonders of Life educational shorts. He is the only one who lacks any sort of military/pilot theming, looking more like a stereotypical 90’s kid, with spicky blonde hair, a green patterned shirt and orange pants. The final design is X. Atencio’s version of the character, who has a yellow and blue uniform with a silver medal and a large blue and yellow helmet that covers half of his eyes.

Some recent Captain Cortex fanart I’ve made, the official design of course, not my headcanon version. Now, why am I once again revamping the way I draw Cortex’s official design? Because we now have a full body drawing of him, the more Colossal Pictures style design, to be specific.

Captain Cortex, the main character from the Colossal Pictures version of Cranium Command. He is a short(?) brain pilot with pale peach skin, round face with big cheeks, long neck and a bottom heavy build. He wears a blue cap, red orange pilot jumpsuit, white undershirt, white gloves and black boots. He also has a black and silver headset with two long antennas. He is drawn standing up with a happy expression and the art style is similar to that of older cartoons with flat art styles like Roger Ramjet.

I thought I'd design a chicken for my Cranium Command headcanon. Just a random hen though, so it's not a headcanon design for the chicken in the actual show.

My headcanon version of Buzzy from Cranium Command talking to someone offscreen while sitting on a rock in a field full of pink grass and fuchsia coral-like trees. I like to imagine the world of Cranium Commandos as being submerged in cerebrospinal fluid and similar to many underwater environments and that the Cranium Command's various bases are located in more natural areas, so there's a lot of fields where brain pilots can just relax during their time off.

Here's a bit of a headcanon I actually never shared here. Though cranium commandos are probably just tiny humans in the actual show, I like to think they're just anthropomorphic single celled organisms.

Bobby from Cranium Command, or at least my headcanon version. There's not much of a difference in terms of his appearance. He's still a young blonde light skinned boy with greyish blue eyes. Since my headcanon takes place 4 years after the show's events, he's now 16 years old. His clothes are similar to what he had in the show, albeit very simplified to avoid cluttering his design. He wears a white button up on top of a long sleeved maroon sweater with baggy caqui jeans with black tennis shoes. The art style is 2D and mostly line-less style, only using lineart where it’s needed, such as areas with shadows. At the top left corner of the screen, there is text saying "Bobby" with the Wicked Mouse font which was used for the Cranium Command logo.

After so long of me hyperfixating on Cranium Command, I finally drew General Knowledge, or at least sort of a headcanon design. He remains mostly unchanged, apart from some small details being added.

Fanart of General Knowledge and Buzzy from Cranium Command saluting. As mentioned, his design remains unchanged, with him still being a red haired muscular drill sergeant guy that is significantly taller than the still very tiny Buzzy. I did add some details like making his eyes green and making some of the gold parts of his uniform actually look gold. While considered giving him some white hairs to show that he’s older, the time skip in my headcanon is only 4 years, which I don’t think is enough to show such a drastic difference.

Captain Cortex's maquette. In this design he has a blue hat, white gloves with blue rims, a black and silver headset, dark eyes, reddish orange pilot jumpsuit, a white undershirt, and black boots. It's very possible that this photo was used as refence for the mural. The Captain Cortex animatronic. His design mostly remained the same, but there's still some changes. His jumpsuit is more reddish, his gloves are just white, his hat has the Cranium Command logo, and his boots are grey. Other changes are the addition of brown tufts of hair and a white scarf. Strangely, in this photo he has blue eyelids. For the longest time, this was one of the only images of the character, since it was used in books, promos and even WDW Explorer 98. A cropped screenshot from some of the Cortex animatronic footage shown at RetroMagic. it could be due to the lighting, but he doesn't seem to have blue eyelids in this image. Captain Cortex's sprite from WDW Explorer 98. He was referred to as "Buzzy", oddly enough, and the look of the sprite was very clearly inspired by the maquette. It should be noted that Cortex's design was still used by the time the character became Buzzy, at least up until he was redesigned by Dave Pruiksma.

A quick sculpt of Buzzy from Cranium Commad. I made him specifically so that he looked like a toy, so there’s subsurface scattering in some areas like the hat, skin, jacket and jumpsuit to give it a bit more depth.

Designing some stuff for my Cranium Command headcanon. Since a lot of it focuses on the lives of the brain pilots, that means I have to design the world around them.

Plant designs for my Cranium Command headcanon. While the canon show doesn't reveal what the world looks like outside of the Cranium Command, I thought it would be interesting to explore that. I like to imagine the plant life being coral-like and mostly pink in color, with a few exceptions. In this illustration I've featured four plants. The first is a fuchsia tree with a structure similar to elkhorn coral. The second is a teal bush, that looks a bit like prickly pear cactus but without spines. The third is a pink tree which bears a resemblance to broccoli coral. The last are pink flowers that come from buds that are bubble-like in appearance. Next to these I added Buzzy and Captain Cortex for scale. They are 3ft 1 and 3ft 10 respectively, and the plants aren't exactly very tall, at least not much taller than an average sized adult.

Though this ain’t my first time drawing the Colossal Pictures version of General Knowledge, this is the first one I post. Of course, this is my headcanon version, so certain aspects were changed to my liking.

My headcanon design for the Colossal Pictures version of General Knowledge, which unlike the final version of the show, is depicted as being short, perhaps even shorter than Captain Cortex, though he still retains the big chin and muscular build. He has more of a typical cartoon army general look, but with a dark purple helmet with gold yellow stripes and three lightbulbs, and a blue uniform with some pins and some gold yellow details. Much like with Cortex, I’ve added some of my own takes on the design, like giving him short dark brown hair and giving him light brown eyes. He is drawn in more of a typical Disney art style in this piece. Though the Colossal Pictures version of Cranium Command has more of a flat 50’s-70’s sort of art style, it’s not the look I’m going for with my headcanon. Just like I did with the previous two design pieces, I used a style that is mostly line-less, only utilizing lineart where it helps to have it.

Two sticker designs for Buzzy from Cranium Command. One depicts the animatronic while the other depicts his preshow design. Though both wear the same clothes, green flat cap, grey headset, large round glasses, brown aviator jacket, green jumpsuit and grey boots, there's drastic difference between the two. Preshow Buzzy has proportions more similar to Tweety Bird, a very large head with tiny dot eyes towards the lower middle of his head and a small body with really big feet. The animatronic's proportions are closer to Mickey Mouse at least in terms of headcount. Notably is face has significantly larger cheeks and his eyes have a sclera and blue irises. Another thing only present on the animatronic is his brown hair. Preshow Buzzy has a tiny bit of hair, but it's only visible when he takes his hat off. All of these differences are simply due to the fact that the bot was made for a different character from an earlier version of Cranium Command.

A nighttime scene of streetlamp in the middle of nowhere near a canyon. Technically speaking, it's underwater, so the colors are mostly blue, with some green hues around the light. Since this takes place in my Cranium Command headcanon, I added Buzzy and Captain Cortex, who are sort of lost. Buzzy's visibly nervous, while Cortex is still confident that a bus might stop by soon.

I finally drew the Cranium Command control center! In typical Soul fashion it’s a mixture between official stuff and some of my headcanon elements. For example, the wires are more like blood vessels to give it a more bio-mechanical look.

Grey, one of my Cranium Command OCs. They are 5ft 3, with a bulky hourglass body type, light grey curly hair with a purple gradient, warm beige skin, thick black eye brows, purple eyeshadow, long eyelashes, dark brown eyes and a dark freckle on their right cheek. In terms of clothes, they are wearing the Cranium Command uniform, which consists of a greenish grey headset, green hat, brown aviator jacket, green shirt, green pants and dark grey boots. In terms of personality, they are a no-nonsense type. They may come off as mean on the outside, but deep down they are a very caring person.
