LCP and INP are part of Interop 2025 so hopefully coming to Firefox and Safari this year! 🥳

Checking in, I'm seeing:

Firefox
- LCP is in stable 🎉
- INP is behind a flag 🔜?

Safari
- LCP is being actively worked judging by spec questions 🏗️

It's great until you get obsessed with that score.

It's important to say that the score is just a lab number. In reality, your website can behave differently.

I've worked with multiple websites that had perfect scores in PSI and terrible #CoreWebVitals. And also vice versa.

What do the fastest pages have in common? Lean images that are served early. On the Tesco home page (0.89s LCP) the LCP image is the 1st image request.

Slower pages served the LCP element much later. In one case, the LCP image was the 94th resource request on the page.
