the problem was dirty, burnt connectors, so not really a problem with the design of the product or anything. this one was around 20 years old.

The thing is the water heater, 80 gallon heat pump, is $2500 or less (with rebate from BGE it's actually affordable!) but the labor is ridiculous. I am now an expert on SharkBite connectors, flexible, braided, or PEX, and so on because I am going down that rabbit hole. I'm glad it's all electric.

before i go to bed real quick shout out connectors that you can disassemble and re-use, these things are awesome. why buy a new cable for tens of euros when you can just get a box of random wires and connectors from someone and DIY it and get something that sounds and works equally as well

We've still got a VHS player! Not sure about tapes. I recall Able committing many of his beloved tapes to a skip we hired many years ago. Know what you mean about cables, old connectors etc., though. I'm sure they breed somehow. Must be why as soon as you turn your back, you find they've tangled up!

Was trying to fix a build a bear speaker box. It was already in bad shape because parts of it rusted but it was at least making clicking noises. I cleaned the connectors with some rubbing alcohol and somehow that made the situation worse. Now the speaker is entirely silent 😬

#Hamradio glitch solved (?). Problem was (?) with the pass-through connection in my window. Changed connectors and now the SWR is what it used to be.

what I had in mind was soldering it myself, the idea is basically to do it for myself. in this case the Qwiic would be SMD, and Grove either SMD or THT, both types of connectors are easily available. and I don't even think about the selling, if I could get away with having just 5 PCBs made,

The biggest improvement over other systems IMO is the utilities for handling REST api sources, including a scaffolder to set up a new REST source using an openAPI spec.
