The Isuzu COA III was a design study out of Isuzu's california design office. Chief designer Takao Honda wanted a car that was a complete departure. I feel he achieved that. It was branded as an alternative ATV. Lots of ground clearance and a mid-mounted engine.

Oh-my-god. It looks absolutely brilliant! Either 1: they won't make it. 2: they do make it, but it looks nothing like this. Or 3: They make it, it looks like this, but it's an absurd price. The dealers will be rubbing their hands right about now.

In 98, the VehiCROSS was a class winner at the Paris-Dakar Rally. Unfortunately, this did not translate to sales. The cold reality is that dealers had trouble shifting them from the showroom floors. So much so that two model variants were scrapped.
