I-5 major artery’s unprecedented, unusual, disruption. Past closures for brush fires, not live ammo. Supposedly part of USMC's 250th. CHP shut down 17mi of I-5 for "extreme life safety risk" from live artillery/explosive ordnance fire. Train service between OC-SD counties canceled. Timing suspect.

I believe we were told by the White House first that no roads will be closed and then this morning the CHP was instructed to close I-5. I still don’t get the live rounds part. The Gov. is very unhappy right now so I don’t believe he had a choice.

"CHP officials announced Saturday morning at 6 a.m. that the closure will be in effect from Basilone Road & Harbor Drive in Oceanside."
