Yeon Ji-yeong's carecore hits me the hardest this year because in most romcom #kdrama, carecore only happens when a romance is already established (with some smaller number of them happened during flirting stage).
But for our chef, carecore is baked in to her character, her default state of being.

May God bless the dinosaurs that died to make the processed fuel in the car that took Im Yoon-ah and Lee Chae-min's mothers to the hospital and gave birth to them.
For their sacrifices gave me #BonAppetitYourMajesty an a peak carecore in all romcom #kdrama I've watched this year.

That isn’t seduction. That’s soul medicine disguised as cuisine.
And that makes the carecore even more potent. Because it’s not romantic subservience, it’s professional pride + human decency. It’s romance coded, sure, but it’s not romance defined.

The majority of claims are never seen by a human. Ditto for EviCore which is such a cheaply run company that companies under their auspices have to use two different pre-auth apps to get approval. How do you know to use EviCore vs CareCore? You don't. It's a nightmare.

From the second couple in #MyDearestNemesis to the main couple in #TheWinningTry, Im Se-mi is just too good at a mature romance scene.
Her carecore is so authentic and warm. ❤️

And I was wrong again 😂 this kdrama is a god damn genius.
Let's take just one episode to flip me from "this ML is such an annoying co-worker" to "damn, why is that carecore so hot though..."

Ok yeah, that's a clever way to handle the "relationship" angle. It's not the focus and this ML is still just an annoying co-worker.
I can relate with that.

I'll give it a few more episodes grace as these ladies absolutely do not need romance stories as their focus. Bad dates or failed romance sure, but the #kdrama vibes are better and funnier when it's just these three being their chaotic gremlins selves.

Adding additional point for my perfect romance #kdrama criteria:
No murder plots
No stupid side traumas that don't contribute to the story.
No stupid resolution
No love triangle
Are the leads are equally likeable both when solo and when they're together?
Is the relationship carecore believable?

I'm at that age apparently that Im Se-mi's portrayal of carecore is what triggers my swoon now.
Not the raw, primal, lust-driven kisses or embrace, but that gentle hug with I-ji's stroking Ga-ram's back and saying "I got you..."

I used to work in healthcare, and one of my jobs was essentially to fight with EviCore to get diagnostic imaging and surgery approved for our cancer patients. Fun fact: EviCore used to be called CareCore. I joked that they had to get rid of the "Care" because it was false advertising.
Our seventh most-read story of this year: When companies like Aetna or UnitedHealthcare want to rein in costs, they turn to EviCore, whose business model depends on turning down payments for care recommended by doctors for their patients.

This scene lives rent free in my head and resurfaced for no reason this AM. Always love how effortless and natural they made their entire relationship tension looks. ❤️
