Some of the most magical moments in all of media are made with this spontaneous synergy between talent and camera; totally unplanned moves. It's especially rare in live broadcast to see the dance work like that. Beautiful, beautiful work
At the 12 second mark, that camera operator called an audible and just said "fuck it, the lane is clear, no tripping hazards, I'm winning a Sports Emmy for cinematography right now"

That RF Steadicam doesn't have any cables to trip on. Also, it's cool, but they do these 360 hero shots on every major US sporting broadcast nowadays. Every home run, every touchdown. This doesn't feel novel or particularly interesting to me any more. But I probably just watch too many broadcasts.

ah yes, i would LOVE to take at least 2 seconds to perform any action, have to broadcast my every action to anyone nearby, and regularly need to redo things because it registered incorrectly or didn't interpret something the way you'd expect it to. that's a great way to daily drive a computer

Yeah. Wouldn't rule out a live cam but I've only seen them as non-broadcast interview cameras. For on-air interviews we'd always bring a game camera down on shoulder with the hardline. Those ops can do some good moves with a tethered shoulder rig, but not the full circles shown above.
