A row of brightly coloured wheelbarrows lines the edge of the pavement outside a hardware shop — pink, green, silver, black, maroon, and a bold purple — each one gleaming in the midday sun. They're chained together at the wheel like an orderly parade, their handles jutting neatly onto a worn black-and-white tiled threshold. Behind them, stacks of compost bags lean casually against the wall. The street is quiet but sunlit, terraced shops on the opposite side and a few red cars parked up, the kind of British town where everything feels slightly too small but charming all the same.
