Possibly the most isolated railroad crossing in San Jose. Connects the Alviso and Mallard trails way out in the Alviso marshlands with a legal crossing. If you do cross here, do be careful as the trains are doing about 75MPH and approach far quicker than they appear to.

I’m not sure how much longer it will be there as the rest of Alviso, unfortunately, disintegrates.

I don’t know what there is to study more. We know we need a double track rail line that doesn’t have a sharp curve, is up off the marsh so it doesn’t flood and can support 4-6tph in each direction. Only after this is done will we get to enviro and early design

As a native, I love the Bay. I just think Alviso is very unpleasant & certain eco systems would be better off w/o human intervention. I used the to live at Rivermark so I know Alviso very well 🤢

Look, we’re mocking the NFL and the York’s for trying to sell Levi’s as being more scenic & convenient than Candlestick. It’s a concrete box. Really doubt the crowd coming to an NFL game or monster truck rally at Levi’s are going to brave the stench to hike in Alviso.

No. The new stadium is in Santa Clara. 2 counties down the peninsula. Perhaps you’ve never been to California, but that’s no where near the Bay. Alviso might touch the salt marshes that eventually reach the Bay but you cannot see any water from the new stadium.

Alviso California had a bit of the opposite. It's a bay/marsh-side town with a history of flooding, but when San Jose built the Sharks Arena, it gave the river a place to flood before getting to Alviso,
and Alviso was able to stop them from "fixing" it because it would cause Alviso to flood again.
