This is a young Adenium obesum "Golden Carrot." Adeniums are prized for their large and sculptural caudex (trunk) and large roots. They're also known for their flowers. This cultivar has bright orange flowers. 🌱

*Part ☀️, most everyday, most of year, is fine. Otherwise I go into a funk w months of grey (goodbye forever, NewEngland; I won't ever know you SF, Seattle or Vancouver).
Not a large leap to finally correlate *climate* correctly w/my Me/CFS/ Autism.

Been no rain for a week, but the week prior there was four whole inches which pretty much turned blooming plants into Rusty blooms. here is an open newer Bloom upon a desert rose plant; the bloom itself is a trumpet shape with variegated red and pink striped markings and a golden interior. below is a red bud unopened upon this succulent plant, an Adenium
obesum, commonly known as a Desert Rose. This striking succulent plant is native to Africa and the Middle East, prized for its vibrant, trumpet-shaped flowers and unique, often swollen, caudex (a thick, bulbous stem).

the beautiful light of the earlier part of the day in mid-october in the Sonoran Desert in a suburban backyard in the shadow of South Mountain Park which is in zone 9B the light is reflected upon an ever-spreading cluster of sweet potato vine.

here are the results of pollination upon this cereus Jamacaru cactus in the front yard
a tall spiny cylindrical Cactus with knob like growths with string like brown bits hanging from each one, they are fruit which the pollinators feed on if they are hungry

I very much enjoy the tiny White flowers of the Bougainvilla Bush, set off so pretty by the raspberry red leaves called b r a c t s, pictured above a Baja CalliandraCalifornica

I’m still repotting the poison garden, and the caudex on this adenium was so large i had to cut it’s pot away to move it up. Pretty happy with this li’l shaver :) 🌱

A plant removed from dirt, held in a plastic-gloved hand with a giant caudex (underground storage body for water).

Same plant now in a two-gallon orange plastic pot with about half its caudex exposed.

The plant migration is mostly done, and i guess i have some space for seedlings now since some of my shelves have some space!

The last photo is the “mostly”, all of my poison garden (adenia and adenium, mostly) all need repotting before they go in the empty space on the top shelf, away from cats.
