Thanks to Liz and @adelaidewriter for these images of the River Sheoak (Casuarina cunninghamiana). These long-lived native evergreens grow along river corridors, providing vital habitat for wildlife. Their seeds feed parrots and finches, while their pollen offers a rich protein source for bees.

Highlights included the Dardanelles Memorial and an Aleppo Pine, planted for the 1988 Bicentennial Exhibition.

The Bunyip Trail in John E Brown Park (Park 27A) is great for both children and adults. Don’t miss this enchanting trail in Spring – but note, it closes from May to August due to localised flooding.

The Kaurna name Tulya Wardli for Bonython Park (Park 27) means "soldier house," but it is now redundant after the State Heritage Listed barracks were demolished to make way for the new Women's and Children's Hospital.

Lefevre Park / Nantu Wama (Park 6) spans about 6% of Adelaide’s Park Lands. Rod Lewis led his first walk, truly capturing the park's essence. Thanks to Rod for adjusting the walk so we saw the horses galloping.

Sunday’s walk in Carriageway Park/Tuthangga (Park 17) led by Liz Tidemann. The Park's many interesting features include a former reservoir and benchmark, South Tce Croquet Club established 1911.

Plans are afoot to 'develop' the golf course.

Light Vision sundial in Pennington Gardens West in Park 26 / Tarntanya Wama.
Originally at Light Vision on Montefiore Hill, the sundial was moved in 1936 in the state's centennial year.

The Adelaide Park Lands feature public art, including works by local sculptor Silvio Apponyi. This possum in Possum Park / Pirltawardli (Park 1) overlooks the golf course toward the former Native Location, once a Lutheran mission.

This Victorian-era cast iron fountain in Tarntanya Wama (Park 26) is one of two that once adorned the Exhibition Building grounds on North Terrace. Built in 1887, the building was demolished in 1962 due to neglect.

The stunning Victorian-era rotunda at Adelaide Zoo, was gifted by Sir Thomas Elder in 1884, along with animals like Miss Siam, the first elephant. The Zoo is part of Park 11, Mistletoe Park/Tainmuntilla.
