The #YottaDB code base now has functionality to encode and decode local and global variable (sub)trees as #JSON strings. It uses the popular #Jansson library. The functionality is currently documented in a Draft Release Note, and will be part of the upcoming r2.04 release.

Thanks for the update. If you're using Redis/Dragon Fly I might be able to help. I manage YottaDB (yottadb.com), and we are developing Xider (yottadb.com/xider-for-re...), an API compatible with Redis,but with a real database behind it. It's 100% open source, and I'm happy to personally help.
