Today I'll be using Eucalyptus from Captain's Choice. I just felt like using this again, and it was a wonderful shave with plenty of Eucalyptus, but it does tend to remind me of Vicks VapoRub, but in a good way. The soap held up after many years dormant and snapped right back into action after being placed in the shaving bowl. A little warm water and my favorite brush produced an amazing amount of lather. This lather got right onto the beard, and the feeling of this Eucalyptus has to be experienced. I was able to use my Occam's Razor without fear of irritation. The slickness and glide are all good, and the post-shave feel spectacular. I did, however, use Wet The Face aftershave, Mr. Warlock. I think nothing beats it. FAQ - Hey! Today I'm using The Quiet Man shaving soap, the tallow version. It's been getting a lot of buzz lately; in fact, all the tallow soaps we sell are selling more than ever before. We use a tallow source here on Long Island. When our batch is ready, they call, and we pick it up, not too far away from us, which saves us on shipping costs. When I'm creating tallow soaps, the tell is in the melted oils. It has a kind of shimmer to it that no other oil provides. You can almost see how slick this is going to be. I personally feel our vegan soaps are just as slick as our tallow versions, but I need to give customers what they want, which is why we created the tallow line. We currently have 4 soaps in Tallow, The Quiet Man, Vintage Barbershop, Vanilla Tobacco, and Don's Vetiver. We are going to be adding to the line this year, so watch out for that in the near future. Today I picked Palmolive Shaving stick because I need to get my shave on fast. No bowl lather, just wet the face, applied the stick to my face, then wet the brush and did a face lather. In seconds, I had an amazing amount of lather, and it just kept growing. Wonderful stuff, this stick. So glad I am able to try this amazing (discontinued, not sure) product with the help of a subscriber who sent it to me. The lather was thick and creamy and got right into the beard. I was able to use my single-edge Occam's Razor without any nicks or cuts; the Post-shave feel was fantastic. All in all, it was a wonderful shave with no issues, and that's what we like to see.
