When I heard the theme for #BlueSkyArtShow was #jagged, the very first thing that came to mind was the Hraundrangar, so here's a shot of it from my very first sight of it in May'23, with a hint of #WeekendWaterfall (my shots of the actual foss by Jónasarlundur don't show the spire so well!) #Iceland

The lock gates are on the right of the picture, and a small stream of water is gushing through them, onto the sill below, making white water and another 'fall' from the sill down to the water level. The shadow of the lock gates is thrown onto the green-brown water, including the shadow of OP standing on them. It looks like she's wearing bloomers (she's not, it's a skirt!)

At first glance: calm green slopes. But nature’s appearance is always shifting - this gentle patch near Dettifoss was partly lost to a landslide just days ago. Nothing stays the same.

A steep, grassed fell face with a triangular peak in the distance. Where the rocks are cleft in the middle a horsetail waterfall tumbles in two steps of white water, the first about a quarter the drop of the lower. There is a boarded, metal-railed walkway climbing over the fallen rocks at the bottom to give a closer view of the foss, although closer up you lose much of the sight of the higher level, but the walkway gives some perspective to give an idea of the scale of this very pleasing foss. The sky is a clear pale blue
