WeAre8 skulle være nyt socialt medie i DK, jf. MediaWatch. Men de nævner intet om EU eller GDPR på hjemmesiden og svarer ikke på spørgsmål om, hvor de er hjemmehørende, eller hvor deres servere ligger (ikke uvæsentligt, når USA nu lissom Kina mener, de skal have adgang til alle data på servere der)

I had forgotten this even existed. I'm not sure, although I took a picture of their ad, I ever really knew they existed. (Possible sign that your social media network hasn't worked: it doesn't even merit a Wikipedia page, and even Dulwich OnView has a Wikipedia page)

I’d expect them to introduce ads and/or a subscription model that is ad-free with some other perks like nice-to-have features, beta testing, cosmetics, etc. There’s only a handful of business models that have proven to work for social media companies.
Ideally ads could be opt-in, a la WeAre8.

It’s unfortunate cause them leaving X and highlighting mental health are both major positives. A partnership with WeAre8 is far from that.
