i always thought the fact that he warden canonically searches for a cure for the taint is sooo interesting bc it speaks to some level of rejection of the martyrdom that is so inherent to being a warden. like surely there is a better way than poisoning ppl, killing most of them, to deal w darkspawn

theron's relationship with being a warden/the wardens as an organization is very like. im sorry this happened to all of us and many of us weren't given a choice. he feels little pride in the idea of like. just being a machine to kill darkspawn and one day die doing it. voluntarily
my vision is that my warden has been extremely polarizing bc he's not only an elf in a high position who is also looking for a cure for the taint, he's now out here like "first warden. there is a blight." and when the first warden is like no there isnt. theron just starts telling ppl directly lmfao

really enjoying imagining how my warden is doing 23 years out from origins. despite my track record with previous military-esque characters i do think he is still warden-commander and i think he is a huge pain the ass. he and the first warden are sworn enemies but like in an office rivalry way

Someone's dream job is a traffic warden but even they thought you was to much of a snitch.
For four years now I've been secretly checking and reporting untaxed cars down my street. One owner always leaves about 4 days between expiry and renewal, and while he doesn't know it, he's in a race with me to see if I can report him and get him caught before he pays.
