A question for #visionscience:

We have a PR650, but don’t have the serial cable they came with back in the day. Does anyone happen to have the pinout for this connector? The manual says it’s RS232 serial, but this is some mutant 12-pin mini-DIN thing.

I saw somebody doing #VIsionScience for halloween and since apparently it is a tradition for me to repost this every year here you go, two pumpkin random dot stereogram. I swear it works if you are really, really, really good at free-fusing stereograms.
We haven’t done our jack-o-lanterns yet this year (tonight’s the night I guess) but in grad school my lab had a pumpkin carving contest every year so enjoy hurting your eyes trying to get my random dot stereogram (it’s like magic eye) pumpkins of 9 years ago to work

Another #VisionScience demo for your Halloween over at my teaching website. This time, a very basic version of the Gelb Staircase. This one has a reputation for being tricky, but I've found it to be pretty successful.
Vision Demos: Gelb Staircase

Another addition to my #VisionScience teaching website: A new hands-on demo for DIY Binocular Rivalry! All you need are anaglyph glasses & matching colored pencils to watch your two eyes fight for your visual awareness. Students really like this one and it's super quick to do. #STEMEducation

Is there anything more exciting than a new facility ready for research?

Last week, we were thrilled to sponsor the Brain Quantum Imaging conference and tour the new OPM-MEG @ Charité Berlin. Sensors from FieldLine, MSR from IMEDCO, and VPixx peripherals

Most #visionscience folks know that stabilized retinal images fade. Fewer know that stabilized, but flickering, images also fade. Even fewer know that the flicker-fading doesn't take place in the retina.
Congrats to this year’s Young Investigator Award winners #OpticaFVM! 🎉
