OMG thanks for bringing this up, I was having awful trouble tweening shader parameters on instanced materials without having them influence one another... I resorted to manual duplication in _ready() and now I know why we have to do that ;A;

From what I understand he was talking about in-house pattern matching / learning algos for auto-tweening, i.e. the good kind of AI. Not the generative LLM/GPT/theft machine type - though it's certainly to the latter's benefit to confusingly use "AI" for both.

learning tweening animation would be so epic but unfortunately the millions of layers and peicing parts together like a puzzle makes me cry

ok so I’m confident with tweening now I can become those animation meme animators I have aspired to be like when I was an unsupervised ~5 yr old. but on tiktok. which means if I keep making shuuenpro animations I will get 13-15 yr olds into shuuenpro lore.

tweening them all by script can also work fine though. one downside of the animation editor is hiding details in the animation panel, whereas things may be easier to debug if it’s all in the script? depends on your workflow I guess

Btw if you want to fully dive into tweening: you are going to need to break up every detail into its own layer. In this case, I have each of Twix's bangs separated and her eyes from her pupils.

One of the problems I see come up too often is people seeing something "uncanny" and immediately screaming AI. Legitimate work is fighting a battle on two fronts this way, we have to be more careful with that.
