It was sadly announced on Saturday that Brad Arnold, founder and lead singer of 3 Doors Down, passed away after a battle with cancer. Several of Arnold’s peers shared heartbreaking tributes to their friend. Creed and Alterbridge guitarist Mark Tremonti posted: “One of the kindest people I’ve ever had the privilege of calling my friend passed away today. It is absolutely heartbreaking to realize that you’ll never get to perform or just have a laugh with a friend that you grew up with in the music industry.

I think Scott Stapp wanted to do it as a favor to Kid Rock and then changed his mind.

Interesting. It's certainly suggestive, but could just be schedule adjustment like happens all the time. Shinedown pulling out and actually saying out loud it was because of Kid Rock's politics is the bigger thing
I was comparing the original line up with the list they've got on the Rock the Country homepage and it looks like Creed might have also pulled out at some point? I'm not seeing any reporting on it anywhere but their name isn't on the list anymore

I didn’t list nickelback because honestly they’re just like popular butt rock, whereas creed was like popular butt rock whose singer was a pompous Jesus-pose ass who got his clock cleaned by 311 at a bar.
