I have to finish this form for grad school...and then I'll go out for a bit and then play my 3ds. and if my shoulder is not giving me grief later, maybe I can actually draw and translate some stuff. (Has to say this out somewhere or I'll forget what I'm doing)

i'd go a little higher, around 4-5. you have a stoicness about you that can translate into "shivering because the dark knight is standing near you perfectly still and unreadable"

After last Frosties there was a moment of clarity that I couldn’t clearly translate to myself until like a few months ago, where I was thinking about my Chipp sub and was like “well if Summitt lost to Ray, that means I would have to outperform Summit to beat Ray in the mu”.

I'd recommend reading Israeli press. Because so many 'Israelis' can't read or understand 'Hebrew', there is a 'translate' button. THAT'S where you read the truth. All the 'Israelis don't know what's happening' is utter bullshit. They say it clearly in their own media.

if you ever try to use google translate for a language with max 50,000 speakers, you should really not trust the results.
it's pretty good for big languages and getting the general gist. it's not good at all for small languages or getting the details right.

Yeah, like, they COULD be making something useful out of these tools.
It could be cross-referencing astronomical data,
translating ancient texts (although you'd still want someone double-checking for metaphors and turns-of-phrase that don't translate word-for-word),

There’s a view that quotation marks in text denotes irony/sarcasm. In editing there’s no agreed punctuation to identify either. Air quotes don’t translate well to text. There’s 🙄 or /s or ~, but not all translate fully. So, quotation marks just denote a quote… unless every reader gets the context.

I love that this game exists. It's crazy to me how well the Pokemon battle system can translate to real-time.
