Quite complex slide showing my game-context-adaptation of Kou Murayamas reward-learning framework. Unfortunately, there is too much text on the slide to post it here, but it basically shows a reward-learning loop with which people might become curious. First players need to become aware of the info we want them to see and realize that they have a knowledge gap here, then they need to decide whether they want to engage with the new information, then we need to make sure they understand it. Under certain circumstances this information acquisition feels rewarding – there are many useful theories out there to better understand when this is the case. If people found the acquisition of information rewarding, chances are high that they will expect new information to be rewarding again. So this should influence their next decision when it comes to deciding whether they want to enage with new information. Through this, a reward-learning loop can be established.
