“Starquake’s main appeal lies with its design. It’s so well thought out. The graphics are very good indeed, both the movement and backgrounds. The content of the graphics is amazing — they don’t get very repetitive even over the 512 screens.”

Well. Despite using the moniker for various short stories of my own creation, I couldn't really remember what tAoY is all about on the #C64, but I can tell you now it is a cracking little arcade adventure game. Heavy Starquake vibes and Underwurlde. Follow up to Nodes.

Dan Dare 2
I did NOT know this game played like this - I had no idea what was going on, but blow me if that wasn't a great lark - that's so much fun! DD2 on the #C64 is like a Cybernoid knock off, or maybe vice versa, game me Starquake vibes too. And some Enigma Force. Enjoyed that!

I got tired for a while, as some of my favorite games are arcade-style (Asteroids, Jetpac, Pacman etc.), but hating a favorite? I don't think so. Even exploration/adventure games (Pitfall 2, Starquake etc.) never made me hate them. I've barely played anything after the 16-bit era, so simpler times.

Underwurlde is a great game. I much preferred it to Knightlore. While more technically impressive, I found the KL controls made it near unplayable. All style over substance. UW was a favourite of mine along with the quite similar Starquake.

Finally managed to order one from this third batch, having missed the first two. Good to see Manic Miner on yours! I’d also recommend anything by Ultimate. I also loved Starquake, Arcadia, Lords of Midnight, Highway Encounter, Nodes of Yesod, and Chuckie Egg!
