Return of the Yazoo Witch:

Some stories don’t stay buried. The Yazoo Witch comes from Mississippi folklore. She is a warning tied to silence, memory, and the river.

This is the Vigilante Justice story.

And still on the subject of the songs in South of Midnight, it's really great that they actually accompany the story and the actions. I don't remember seeing that in other games.

Et la version française est excellente !

South of Midnight completed! 😀

A great game with a beautiful story and endearing characters. All wrapped up in a wonderful atmosphere and superb music. The icing on the cake is the songs, some of which really moved me ❤️

The further I get in this game... ❤️

I'm trying not to rush through it so I can enjoy it for as long as possible.

(I've finished chapter 9)

Currently playing South of Midnight 🧵 🪡 🪄

Its originality reminds me of games like Psychonauts and American McGee's Alice. I'm totally charmed by the atmosphere, the music, the songs... ❤️

Alabama’s weirdest legend gets a shirt worthy of the porch — the White Thang, tall and silent since the 1930s.
Wear the myth, stir the story.

Across every country, every age, she appears the same —
veiled in white, grieving, silent.
The Lady in White — forever searching.

Next stop, Talbot County, North Georgia, where the legend of Emily Burt leads us down a road rife with age-old superstitions, debunked myths (what silver bullets?), and a history of women's health.

Birds have a prominent role within #southofmidnight be it the #rougarou of chapter 7 or the owls that appear in every chapter. Birds in the south represent freedom to the fullest extent. Oftentimes guiding lost and/or trapped souls towards a better and freer life.

After finishing #southofmidnight I have to say that this game is a beautiful telling of #southernfolklore The use of #mythology to share the troubled #history of those seeking freedom and a new life within the southern United States is just what we need in these uncertain times.

Fatwood, fat-lighter, is wood often from the longleaf pine. It is resin permeated heart-pine that is now rot-resistant, & quite flammable. My paternal Grandmother whispers to me of its uses from beyond the Veil. I Hear / See you Granny. #FolkWitch #SouthernFolklore #WitchSky

While reading #FaustianFriday posts I'm so feeling the song "Me and the Devil". The original was by Robert Johnson 1938. Most people are familiar with Soap & Skin's version (which is INCREDIBLE). The are other versions as well! Johnson recording 1938. [1 of 3]
