The clouds parted tonight just long enough to capture the Moon. Taken using an iPhone SE pointed down the eyepiece of my trusty almost 25-year-old Skywatcher EQ2 102mm Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope from Woodchurch Memorial Hall car park. Sinus Iridum was particularly prominent.
The Moon in waxing gibbous phase. The Sea of Tranquility is at the lower middle, with Mare Imbrium at the top, the crater Copernicus at the top middle, and Sinus Iridum clearly above the terminator at top left. A closer view of Sinus Iridum.

The center of the Carina Nebula, with the bright star Eta Carinae and the Keyhole feature, in H-alpha. Data taken from the backyard at home, ~15 km from Sydney's city centre, on Monday 19th and Tuesday 21st April 2020. Equipment: Skywatcher Black Diamond 80 (F=600mm, f/7.5), Skywatcher AZ-EQ6 (mount), ZWO ASI178MC (main camera), ZWO ASI120MM + Orion 50mm guidescope (guiding), 2&quot; Baader ultra-narrow (3.5 nm) H-alpha filter, and ASIair controlling everything (using my son's iPad). This image combines 35 x 600s light frames, and 30 x 600s dark frames. Aligned and stacked with SiriL, stretching, colour contrast, saturation, levels, and luminosity with Photoshop.

The processed data from my recent trip to some dark country skies. These three galaxies, the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds and the Triangulum Galaxy are all part of our Local Group of Galaxies. The other notable member is the Andromeda Galaxy but that's too far north for me

Large Magellanic Cloud. Processed Image. 270 x 30 second exposures stacked. Skywatcher Evoguide ED50 with Starizona Corrector. Camera is ZWO ASI294MC Pro. Filter, Baader NeoD Light Pollution filter (to reduce moonlight). Processed with SIRIL, Seti Astro Suite Pro and Graxpert. Notes : noticeable aberration in this image. Still have not got the imaging train sorted out. Interested to revisit this target with some different filters and maybe even try a mosaic to get it all in. Not bad for a second try. Small Magellanic Cloud. Processed Image. 135 x 30 second exposures stacked. Skywatcher Evoguide ED50 with Starizona Corrector. Camera is ZWO ASI294MC Pro. First attempt at this target and its just a quicky to get my head around the size and what might be the best scope to use with it. Next attempt will be with an 80mm scope so therefore more 'zoomed in'. I do like these images though that show an entire galaxy just 'hanging in space'. An island we can never reach, almost three million light years away. BTW that's still our astronomical 'back yard' This is the mighty telescope used to capture these large night sky objects. Not made to do imaging but does a reasonable job. Maybe one day I can upgrade to a proper wide field scope but they are expensive. I just use this one because I have it.
