Also - hot take.
I hate seeing stripes of the forest cut down to make place for ski tracks. I find it extremely ugly.
The (fairly) nearby town of Harrachov in Krkonoše mountains is hit particularly bad with this trend, but it can sadly be seen even around Liberec.
To me, it's just disgusting. 🤮

I’m gonna piggyback on this to say we should reclaim as Neo-Americana the 90s US ski team spiderweb uniforms that I want to say were like purple and orange or something but I couldn’t find any pictures of the specific ones I’m thinking of

When you see 2-3 percent doing something costly like protesting, you figure there are at least 10x who would like to but couldn't, 20x who largely agree, and 5-10 percent who are undecided but really thinking about what is going on.

My stepdad fought in ww2. He enlisted with his best friends in the ski patrol hoping they wouldn't see combat. My stepdad was the only one of the group to return alive. Every day for the rest of his life he woke up screaming. We accepted it, of course! But it always hurt my soul. Best man ever!
