Started decorating my new Sacred Harp book tonight. I'm hoping that I can find a rose bush stamp tomorrow at an art store in San Mateo. I'm hoping that I'll have my book decorated before my first anniversary of shapenote singing, which is next week in Alameda, CA.

I feel like I’m still a baby shape noter and yet not only did we get VPH, but now there’s the Sacred Harp 2025 revision happening.
I have the impression that new shape note books are generally few and far between.
And yes I plan on buying both 🥰 My local song uses VPH.

In August, 50 singing friends from 7 countries gathered in Berlin for 2 days to sing from the shapenote songbooks Shenandoah Harmony and Sacred Harp. A great opportunity to experience shapenote singing at its best: powerful sound, amazing energy, and a wonderful community. This is me leading a song!
