It was so much fun the year (I think 2012) that the American Shakespeare Center did this in repertory with Shakespeare’s King John, with every actor doing the same roles or analagous ones (ie Richard Lionheart also playing his own Bastard).
"The Lion in Winter" is the best Christmas movie.

Husband just learned Rhea Seheorn's first credited role was as the tutorial sorceress in a Magic: The Gathering videogame and we've watched clips. Rhea needs to Cate Blanchett it up and do a high fantasy film. She needs a cloak and some faux Shakespeare dialog NOW.

Something we don’t talk about enough is how much the modern Anne Hathaway’s husband looks like a reincarnation of Shakespeare

Black white, foul fair, wrong right,
Base noble, old young, coward valiant.
….
Make the hoar leprosy adored, place thieves
And give them title, knee, and approbation
With senators on the bench.

While reading Shakespeare in high school English class, we learned that Julius Caesar suffered from epilepsy, prompting one of my friends to ask the teacher if that's why they're called "seizures".

Off-limits writers, I guess: Shakespeare, Dickens, Tolstoy, Eliot (both), Hardy . . . . Actually, all philosophers from Plato on, all Victorians, all 18th cent. writers, most 20th cent. writers (including Atwood — i.e. refuses to refute JKR), et al. What’s left: boring “correct” authors. No thanks.

Yes. First it was poets, then lawyers. He banned no one. He was not a ruler. Then it was Elizabethan era and Shakespeare.
“First thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers.” And still both plague us.
