We are all kinds of Scots.

Thick as mince, as we Scots say.

Mustn't grumble, at least the bigger hills were just about visible. This is Liathach, with a lovely line of Scots Pines in front.

It's incredible this debate has even happened without seemingly a single mainstream British commentator noting that Scotland just made Scots and Gaelic official languages and *well over half* of Glaswegians speak Scots as their first language
This is a really appalling editorial error on BBC Question Time

"Apparently one in three children don't speak English as a first language, why does this matter?"

Chair says "have English as a second language"

Caption changes the meaning entirely
"Don't speak fluent English"

Wake up, silly Scots.

Tell Sid.

A passage from Scots The Mither Tongue on the Scots/English duality inherited by the majority of Scots. Scotland has from its very beginnings till the present day been a multilingual society, something fascists like Farage will never understand & hopefully never suppress. More on the Audible version

Independent Scotland will be one of the Richest Countries in Europe.

Sadly, many older Scots don't want this.

They've absolutely no idea why.

Scotland is one of the most energy-rich countries in Europe, yet families here pay some of the highest bills.

That simply does not add up. An energy-rich Scotland should mean energy-rich Scots.

Was listening to an old Knowledge Fight and at one point Alex Jones (inaccurately) says the Mafia never got any footholds in the South because it was "founded by Scots"

It's notable that Scots invented the same thing as ladies for lack of pockets. A purse!

Not sloppy Maureen, a very deliberate act, calculated to damage the image that Scots have of their “inadequate” country

The core function of the bbc is to “promote unity throughout the uk”.For them it’s essential that Scots are made to believe that Scotland is incapable of functioning outwith the uk

There are quite a few Scots, who have failed to realise, Reform UK is an English Nationalist Party. They used to be called The Brexit Party. They think Scotland is hopeless.

People in Scotland ARE still this unenlightened.

They're not good at Critical Thinking.

I've always loved this little lochan above Loch Clair. It was raining, again, but still nice to hike up there.

like when you fold up pairs of socks to keep them together

Rare public display for Mary Queen of Scots' final letter
The letter was written in the cell where Mary had been imprisoned for 19 years, just hours before she was executed.

This was no "error"
It was a blatant attempt to throw muck at the Scot Gov, divide communities and push Scots into the arms of Reform Ltd.
The real story is worth a read.

The real scandal isn't the Question Time error. It's the BBC's response
THE BBC’s error was heinous. It went even further than Farage. The broadcaster, however, seems unperturbed ...
