There was a ScholCommLab paper last year that did a look at how preprint servers approach this problem currently that I found informative. I also expect this is an area where changes/maturation will be coming soon (given problems with AI slop that seem to be growing).

As a friend of the ScholCommLab and contractor to PKP/SFU, I wholeheartedly support this statement and the hard work being done to navigate the situation. There is a concrete connection between the destruction of education and cultural heritage in Gaza and our work in pursuit of knowledge justice.

Today, the #scholcommlab published a Statement of Support for PACBI Principles. With it, I reject my university's (SFU's) complicity in the ongoing genocide in Gaza, and call them out for restricting my ability to direct the work of @pkp.sfu.ca in a principled way. www.scholcommlab.ca/pacbi/

Probably my favourite #scholcommlab research to date. @stefhaustein analyzed 40 million tweets to understand how academics use emojis.

(Spoiler: it seems researchers are just as 🤓 online as we are #IRL
