I mean, there is that, though honestly unless it's for one of the flavors I *don't* normally see in stores (either the Tea & Lemonade or, unfortunately, the Watermelon Lemonade - which I've seen in stores in the past, just not now) I'd be more like "um, Safeway or Winco gift card" 🤔

I just made the most unbelievable beef shawarma, tzatziki and saffron rice. The hummus is from Haji Baba and the lavash is from Safeway.

Block uphill traffic at Elm, permeable to bikes. Homes on those blocks would be unchanged. That would stop the flow of traffic up the hill but not interfere with Safeway or BART inlet/outlets.

There is congestion at the Safeway exit, and two crosswalks, and the BART entrance. Drivers should be crawling. I rarely go up the hill this way by car. Knott & Potrero are less contended. At the top of Hill is the awkward 3 way intersection with Key and Elm.

By 1941, all these brands had disappeared, replaced by Safeway (16 stores), Worth Food Markets (11), and Picwick Food Stores (5). Safeway had acquired the local Piggly Wiggly stores and Worth took many of the Helpy-Selfy stores.

It would've easily stretched from Safeway to the next stoplight after Les Schwab, but people were really bunched up at the main intersection.

Here to gripe about the ridiculous little bike rack outside the door of the new Safeway in the U-district, more as decoration than as a useful rack. There are similar racks much further down the block, not next to doors, seemingly as part of the landscaping rather reflective of what bikers need.

my minimum savings at safeway are 46% off retail every time but occasionally they tease a discount to try something like online ordering and you can do this (actual receipt from 3 weeks ago - personal record high)

Safeway Bakery workers know who I am, I was told. I'm the guy who calls to check they have french baguettes and to set 1 aside. They know it's for my mom.

National Dems had me ready to throw in the towel but turns out state and local Dems have been on the money (ymmv obvs). It has been heartening beyond words. It's not long before you're like "Chuck Schumer? Who gives a shit. Linda the Safeway Cashier is dialed the fuck in, we will be victorious!"

For a little while here Safeway had these little like hot pockets with chicken tikka masala filling which I suppose is the degraded American simulacrum of this. They were nasty. I loved them and I miss them.
