For Fossil Friday: left femur of the extinct American mastodon, Mammut americanum, collected in 1739 (!) from the famed Big Bone Lick fossil locality in Kentucky, US. Specimen is currently on display at the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle in Paris, France. #FossilFriday #BigBoneLick #SVP2023
