The developer is using the Action Editor, a tool for real-time visualization of animations, camera, and other visuals in the Ren'Py engine. A hand-drawn, 2D, full color map is being zoomed in for an opening cinematic. Because subtitles for the cinematic are on a higher layer in the game than the Action Editor's interface, the relevant text from the narrator's voice over appears as the visuals are being worked on.
