i sorta alluded to this when talking about the starsphere but the tradeoff you're making with the gaiden chapters is killing off a bunch of backup units (you never need to go under the deployment limit to access one, and you'll realistically never need significantly more than 16 units)

in terms of, like. "taking advantage of their benefits helps even after they're taken away", "stat stacking is nice to have on multiple people/you can stack stats higher with them as shards", and "well we have the arena if you want to get up to horseshit with FE3!Starsphere still"

Yeah but the remake is worse
Faster menuing and reclassing if you want to meme but that's all its really got in exchange for cutting some story, making Marth worse (he's even more useless in endgame than Roy was), getting rid of the Starsphere shenanigans, and also What If Robin Sucked

this is part 1 of 2 as to why i prefer the original's way of handling the starshards over New Mystery's. "combine these cool things into something that's less than the sum of their parts, even ignoring that them being in parts is actually *good* for their usage" hurts a lot less for growth rates!

oh boy can i ever talk about FE.
I still need to get back around to finishing the last few games in the series. I've only ever kind of beaten FE11 (in a randomizer tagteam which involved the entire last chapter being like 5 sorcerors tossing a forged siege tome and the Starsphere back and forth)/12

A mirror universe starfighter game that jas some very annoying objectives. It does have a nice intro that could have been a USS Exelsior TV opening.
