I'm playing the combat on Story since I heard plenty on the combat in this being ridiculous otherwise.
It gets the job done. Some enemies are a bit too spongey but there's a lot less of it than SH2R which I appreciate.
Music, story, and characters so far seem really great.

I still think this game is slightly too long, but I've been loving finally replaying it a few more times for the rest of the endings!

OG sh2 it was hard to use! Gave replays a new flavor. Landing an overpowered hit felt AWESOME. SH2R it is fluff.

its only really a problem when the og isnt readily available in some form. its why its hard to care about mgs delta but sh2r/demons souls still really gets to me

I wasn’t going to play Silent Hill 2 Remake, b/c how could it compete with a game that fundamentally changed my life? (And I was right on that).
But! B/c of the camera change & a few other factors, SH2R forges its own identity. And it a pretty good identity!
Only 6 hrs in. Still time to blow it.

I still think Signalis is really something special, even as good as SH2R and SHf were, Signalis goes beyond "horror game about metaphor" and fully turns the mirror on the player with the referential overlap.

First couple hours of Silent Hill f are very solid. Lots of tension, suspense, and spooks. Very little knowing what the f is going on lol. I'm gonna enjoy this game.
It's also my first Silent Hill game lol. Needless to say SH2R is on the list, and the remake of SH1 when that releases too

I don't get the criticism that SHf isn't a proper Silent Hill game. It has all the hallmarks of the series. The music & atmosphere are perfect. Even the way characters interact with each other feels like SH. I do agree there is too much combat for sure but SH2R suffers from that as well.

Silent Hill f is making me realize I don’t like SH2R as much as I thought I did. I was starving for more Silent Hill so getting something decent was exciting but now I’m enjoying the real thing and I don’t think I could ever go back.

in comparison, SH2R takes a straightforward, linear story and just inserts 30+ minutes of dead air (combat slog) inbetween plot beats which completely ruins the pacing of the story. i'll never understand people who are "excited" for bloober's take on SH1 lol

its kinda funny people will rag on silent hill f's combat and somehow praise silent hill 2 remakes

in honor of Silent Hill F releasing, here's Theme of Laura from SH2R. i meant to post this back when SH2 Remake came out, but i'm bad at time management ┐(´ー｀)┌ .

Sadly I’m not able to stream today. For some reason, obs started shitting itself. I’m gonna try and figure out why it did, if my internet cord slightly came out and fucked obs or obs just had a hard time with sh2r.

Okay my very subjective review so far of SHf, as a fan who played the OG games and loved SH2R and is not a purist or whiner about stuff.
There is so much good stuff going on. SO MUCH GOOD STUFF.
It's beautiful. It's tense. It's trying to do something different, which I appreciate.
