Good analysis here. Also note that Seattle turnout as of the first count is a mere 23.36%. That's less than in 2021.

Ballots Counted So Far: 118,043
Registered Voters in Seattle: 505,393

#seaelex #waelex

Seattle ballots counted as of Election Night 2021 (when the electorate was smaller): 131,486
Here's a look at the raw numbers in the Seattle mayoral contest, with 2021 for scale. Harrell has lost a lot of ground from his 2021 win.

Wilson gained 17,221 votes more than Harrell between the primary and general. That would be more than enough to eliminate the 8,319 vote gap here.

Bruce Harrell is up in early election night results. But his initial advantage may not be enough to withstand a late ballot surge for Katie Wilson. We'll see.

Too early to call this race, for sure.

Small sample size, but in Columbia City I primarily have seen Katie Wilson lawn signs west of Rainier Ave, and Bruce Harrell signs on the east side. #SEAelex #SEAmayorelection

Therefore on top of their other differences (Zahilay did not endores Harrell, appears to be a stronger advocate for Public Defenders, etc), I will be voting for Girmay Zahilay, in part, because I believe it will help create a stronger King County Council in 2026 and beyond! #seaelex

Mayor Bruce Harrell’s disapproval rose to 52%, a new record in NPI polling.

The previous high was 48% disapproval in January. The mayor now has a worse spread than almost the entire Seattle City Council.

“The attacks on Wilson instead appear to be backfiring completely and are further eroding Mayor Harrell’s standing with the Seattle electorate…Harrell had a nine point negative spread in July; this month, he has a sixteen point negative spread.”

Young(er) people will decide Seattle’s election.

If voters under age 50 turnout in high numbers, Katie Wilson appears likely to win.

If they don’t, 🤷🏾‍♀️

Seattle Wants to Elect Progressives This Fall

In a new Stranger/DHM Poll, progressive challengers are coming out on top across the board. But in the mayoral race, it’s all about voter turnout.

She is now dual endorsing Bruce Harrell and Katie Wilson for Seattle mayor. #SEAelex
