I've been rewriting Gale and Bella's first time which I'm hoping to get up on AO3 this week. I ended up hating the version I wrote two years ago.

This version is a lot more raw, awkward and stumbling, I want it to be real and honest. Here's a WIP.

A snippet which reads:

Gale gently wrapped his arms around his quivering, shaking partner. Their sweat-slicked bodies were pressed together, Arabella’s warm breath against his neck as her chest rose and fell rapidly. He brought a hand up and stroked her long, raven hair which was messy from the encounter, beads of sweat lingering there too. Her face was pressed against his skin and she didn’t speak, simply gasped for air instead.

“I’ve got you.” He breathed. “Was it too much?”

Arabella shook her head, her voice muffled. “No. Just intense.”

The wizard kissed her head softly, cradling her like some precious, breakable thing. “Take as long as you need. I’m not going anywhere.”

Passionate lovemaking was new to Arabella, Gale was conscious of that and tried to lovingly bring her down whenever her body became overwhelmed. As he embraced her, he caressed her back, fingers running over the old scars that resided there.

“Can I get you anything? Some water?”

“Please.” The paladin replied, so vulnerable and different in his arms. A great honour. “Some water and… you. Just be here with me.”

“One might say you’re a rather low maintenance lover.” Gale joked, pressing another soft kiss to her head. “Water it is. I’ll be right back, Bella.”
