Gervin, who scored 42 points just two games previous, connected on 20-of-30 FGA today, without a 3-PT FGA. Gervin added 5 rebounds and 4 steals. It is the 36th time Gervin has topped the 40 point mark in his @NBA career, with a career-best of 63 points in the final game of the 1978 season, to make him the top scorer that season. Former #Blazers player #RonBrewer scored 25 points off the bench. It is the 9th time in 18 games he has topped the 20 point mark, twice scoring over 40 points #MychalThompson led #Portland with 25 points and 12 rebounds with #CalvinNatt adding 20 points. #KelvinRansey and #JimPaxson each added 18 points. In other news from today: It has been noted that #BillyRayBates playing time has dropped over the last two weeks of games. After averaging 17 minutes of play in the first 12 games, Bates' playing time has dropped to 7 minutes per game in the past five games.

Thompson was one of four rookie front-line players, and six rookies overall, in the #Portland lineup today. Forward #ClayJohnson scored 7 points and led the team with 10 rebounds. #KimAnderson scored 12 points while #ClemonJohnson scored only 2 points. Guards #RonBrewer and #KeithHerron scored 10 points and 9 points respectfully, with Brewer tying for a team high 4 assists. Two of the other three Blazers seeing playing time were second year players, #TRDunn and #WillieSmith, while #TomOwens was the most experienced player with 7-years under his belt.

Team owner #LarryWeinberg was at the game and was not happy with the performance.
