I was using my hacked Switch 1 as my Retroarch handheld before, but it’s a little too fragile and expensive as an everyday carry. My RG35XX/H is cheap enough that even if I were to lose it or damage it I wouldn’t lose sleep over it (while I would do so for my Switch)

What some aren't ready to talk about is that games need to drastically scale back their ambitions because if we *did* adjust game prices to inflation / budget / marketing costs in 2025 most of us would just download ROMs of old NES games and playing in RetroArch all night long

720P is definitely a different vibe from 480i even on a CRT. I loaded Retroarch on it in order for it to fill the screen properly but never could downscale it. The Dell calls the resolution “45k” for some reason? But hey I got the SNES Mini on a CRT I accomplished something

Ahh, this is great news: standalone DOSBox PURE.
I've used the PURE core on Retroarch for a few years now, and it's taken a lot of the fuss out of running DOS games. It autoconfigures an appropriate PC spec for a particular game correctly the vast majority of the time.

That's great to know! It would be amazing to have English versions of the Rekoeition series, and this one was always highest on my Rekoei list to try since I adore Inindo. I'm sure you'll do awesome, the grammar will be better than using Ztranslate and RetroArch!

And... the dpad on my Xbox 360 controller finally broke. I'd been having issues with the right bumper not always activating but they cleared up. No such luck this time.
Fitting that it broke as I was trying to figure out how to remap controls in Retroarch.
But it was a good twelve year run!

i can attest to the use of blur shaders for dithering. on RetroArch, it's helpful when playing a game on a CRT that is too sharp for PS1.

*some guy* on youtube was able to do it through the Retroarch thing but the only time i played a game with Translate was ChainDive for the PS2 and i dunno if the story being kinda bad was its fault or not, so i couldn't tell you if it works well

I tried again for the first time in a few years today because I wanted to play gran turismo 4. I was pleased they've got rid of their terrible implementation of XMB as their interface paradigm now so I was optimistic. but it ran like shit and would launch the PS2 core Once per install of retroarch

Digging through some really old photos. Back when I was messing with RetroArch some. Some Third Strike. A good example of why I enjoy tri-dots so much. Even with a good RGB signal the mask still makes pixels really round. Akuma's eye for example.

i liked the game on PC RetroArch, but it gets stuck upon entering gameplay with the Wii emulator :( Not64 it is indeed haha (i'm sorry, the cutscenes are flowing like butter smooth)
