Inspired by the discussion of Science Fiction readers' advisory, I made a list of my top nine books/series I never want to be without. Do I own all of these on paper and/or audio? Yes. I'm not trusting The Cloud with these. #LibrarySky #ReadAdv #LibraryLife

Evergreen readers’ advisory tip: stick with suggestions from the current millennium #readadv #LibraryLife #LibrarySky
Over on Reddit someone is asking for science fiction for their precocious young reader and the people there are suggesting books that were old when that kid's grandparents were the same age as the kid, for fuck's sake if you didn't know any SF books from this millennium maybe sit this question out

I am turning into an alt text scold because goddamn it, I need everyone to start realizing on a deep level how many people around them are disabled.
You're not doing it for nothing. It's hard to get the stats but just in the US, legal blindness affects 8-10 million people.

It's oddly fortifying to read about the women of Troy, etc. who endured so much tragedy and abuse yet soldiered on. This really is an excellent trilogy, with The Voyage Home focused on Cassandra, Clytemnestra and an enslaved healer, Ritsa. 📚 #ReadAdv
Excited to learn that Pat Barker's 3rd Women of Troy book, The Voyage Home, is out. Hold placed! (The 1st entry is the excellent, The Silence of the Girls). 💙📚👀
