This summer, I sat down with my friend Saumita & give her an intro to ggplot2. She's a capable pythonista, so I skipped the fluff & just showed what plotting with #ggplot2 in #rstats can look like.

If you're in a similarly Just Curious re: ggplot2, lemme know!

@python.org absolutely made the right decision. Never been more proud to be a Pythonista.

You all rule!

I’m sorry that you had to make this decision and that everything is a mess but I am perpetually proud to be a Pythonista (especially on days like this).

I have had night terrors for as long as I can remember. The other night, I got up and focused on a Pythonista project to keep the dread at bay. In hindsight, this music project is oddly appropriate!

@SnoopJ the worst problem with pythonista is that you pretty much have to be on the beta in order to use a python released this century. but it is a pretty amazing app otherwise

@glyph I was expressing my amazement to discover that Pythonista exists

but the bug looks quite uhhhhHHHHHHH

OMG I thought I was losing my mind. Despite the lack of haptics I think I'm switching to the Pythonista keyboard for good now, which empirically does not have this problem

May every Java developer get converted to a Pythonista. Guido van Rossum knew when to step back and stay in his lane.

(Was originally gonna say Kotlin but Google loves it too much.)

It's weird how there are bugs that transcend specific implementations. Wolfram Cloud, Google Colab, Juno (Jupyter for iPad) and Pythonista all have the bug that what you click on a textbox the text sometimes randomly jumps to another location. Maybe the Platonic form of a notebook has the bug too.

I'm slightly worried that they didn't mention Pythonista and Juno. I hope they're doing well.

@lproven This Pythonista tends to agree. I don't think that static type checking makes coding fundamentally safer. I certainly don't think that something like Java is more suited for large programmes than (eg) Python.

As an ex Pythonista, one reason against async adoption is really that you have to taint all functions with async then maintain two APIs.

The same problem exists in the Rust ecosystem.
