When I think of this category in my area of expertise, this paper comes to mind:

Holzinger, K. J., & Swineford, F. (1937). The bi-factor method. Psychometrika, 2(1), 41-54.

Cited about 1000 times it spawned the field of bi-factor models with multiple modern papers surpassing its citation count.

New paper by @matzekloft.bsky.social in Psychometrika🎉

We developed a model for aggregating response intervals which are obtained if a participant judges that the word "most" covers the range [86% - 97%].

The model aggregates such intervals while considering people's proficiency & item difficulty.

🚀 Our paper on Bayes factor tests for the differences in networks (graphical models) in two independent groups is now online at Psychometrika: doi.org/10.1017/psy....

Of course, these methods are implemented in the bgms R package, which now also allows testing more than two independent groups.

New paper in Psychometrika from Yon Soo Suh, myself, & Li Cai. We introduce SISQUOC: a Sequential Importance Sampling algorithm to Quickly and Uniformly Obtain Contingency tables. This algorithm opens the door to fitting propensity analysis of categorical data models. Preproof here: bit.ly/3SYilhO

Co-author reminder me that our paper on missing data in hidden Markov models is out in Psychometrika: www.cambridge.org/core/journal... Of course I knew that already, but I don't get to hang out with Ingmar in person that often

Huzzah! Great news for psychometric software!

Psychometrika now accepts software submissions under "Applications and Case Studies" AND software reviews in their expanded Review Section. This dual recognition elevates the status of programming in the field.
