On Aug 6, the 2nd Environmental Technical Roundtable took place on Fogo Island under the #DestinoFogo project. Led by #ProjectoVitó, key steps were taken for co-managing protected areas on Fogo & Brava — uniting conservation and sustainable development.

Centuries ago, thousands of brown #boobies bred on Cima, #CaboVerde. By the 1980s, they were gone. Today, in collaboration with #ProjectoVito, we placed five decoy pairs on the islet to lure them back. Hoping to see them thrive here once more!

Today, we visited taxidermist Rafa Roman in his #GranCanaria atelier, where he crafted 10 stunning brown booby decoys! 🪶 These creations will form a 'small colony' on #CimaIslet (#Rombos, #CaboVerde), aiming to attract boobies from suboptimal breeding sites in Brava to thrive in Cima @ProjectoVito
