I need to say something about why I tripled down on photography with dedicated cameras in the past two years:
I spent almost a decade shooting iPhone photography, including ProRAW and 48MP shots, starting with iPhone 14 Pro Max.
At some point I got really sick of how the iPhone rendered tree bark.

Overall, though, the Sony-produced 1/1.28 in, 48 MP main camera sensor on the iPhone 17 Pro is excellent. Coupled with Apple's ProRAW format & Lightroom, the the whole package is phenomenal.

Моля. Супер избор - най-доброто, което може да се вземе в момента. А иначе за ProRAW формата-с него имаш повече контрол върху снимките, ако ще ги едитваш, иначе всичко се флатва в JPG файл. При видеото е ProRes LOG -по същата логика. Пускаш си ги от настройките на камерата от формати, ако искаш.

VSCO charging even more for FIVE “pro” filters. $60 a year is steeeeeep to start with when their tools feel very basic over all. Just another reason why getting a Darkroom membership makes even more sense 🤔 Darkroom’s Apple ProRAW editing tools are just 👌🏽

if im interpreting it correctly it's a file format that takes photos without compressing any of the data, useful for photographers (like me!)
flavours include CR3 for canon, RW2 for pansonic, and on modern iPhones ProRAW

Thanks! The cameras are pretty decent, it’s the default processing that is often oversharpened tho. I shot this one in ProRAW and edited it in Photomator, but usually I shoot with an app called NOMO RAW, that internally uses ProRAW, lets me turn off sharpening and saves an HEIF file automatically.

The iPhone 17 Pro is the best smartphone I’ve ever owned. Specifically, it’s the first time I’ve owned a phone that has essentially replaced my “need” for carrying a dedicated camera. The cameras, shooting ProRAW, & having Lightroom on iOS all provide a painless workflow for my casual photography. 📷
