mentally preparing to reopen my dead dove radiodust server sometime after the finale. idk where i'm going with this rly but sorting through my thoughts.

so much goes into＆surrounds this server, so i hope nobody minds my rambling as i struggle to continue doing smth that means a whole lot to me 💕
i was desperately aching for a radiodust community that was also profic/ship a few years back, so i been pouring the little i have into this ever since. i've been a (failing!) university student, an emt on an ambulance, and an emt in the emergency room since, all while reckoning with dealing with＆attempting (＆failing! at least a couple times!) to escape the dv situation i'm trapped in. i've never felt capable of running a space when i don't even have control over my own life, but i nonetheless have a deep love for the margins. those of us trapped in abuse, disability, addiction, etc. with only our (often very dark) fictional pursuits to escape to, as well as creators＆fans alike who scratch those itches. that's very much me, so as much as i want this sort of space for myself, i want to provide it to others so we can have community together. it's why i keep trying to maintain it. but i have learned that something as sensitive as this has high potential to attract ppl with bad faith, as well as others just like me i'd like to reach, but just don't vibe with where i am in my journey from where they are in theirs. both are hard to deal with, but the latter especially stings. there's so much i wish i could do, even for ppl who hurt me. i've learned this lesson irl too with my job and family. that not everyone can be helped/reached when they're not ready,＆sometimes nothing you can provide is what they really need.＆sometimes that makes you the villain in their eyes. other times, ppl are just jerks. but you can never tell one from the other, especially when someone is in the midst of fighting their demons. all that to say, this is immensely difficult for me, but i'm finding grace＆balance in determining what i can＆cannot do,＆sticking to those boundaries while also always doing my best for my community so we can grow＆heal together. i'm running this with my bambie, syn, who i'm endlessly grateful for, but we're also two humans with struggles. it doesn't feel like enough, but to make it enough, i'll be tweaking some rules＆being tougher on repeat offenses, especially those that aren't reflective of the values of a profiction server. everything i do will always come from a place of pursuing understanding, but my own peace in my own home will always come first. bc it needs to if i want to keep it alive!

Having gone openly "profic" since like late 2024 I've discovered that very few people actually cared and less than five people were like, weird about it. Seems to very much be a Twitter Toxicity thing and more people moved away from being hostile & antific when paypros started shitting things up.
