As always, there were tons of great performances across the Big Central during the 202 high school football season, and it's not always easy choosing the Bellamy & Son Paving Player of the Week Award. But, of course, thanks to Central Jersey Sports Radio founding sponsor Joe Bellamy - without whom none of this would be possible - somehow, we figure it out.

Representatives from the Arizona Cardinals paid a special visit to recognize Trivium Prep's Ben Wolfley at Player of the Week.

Jordan Walsh is no stranger to being a go-to guy on his team. After all, he was the Borden's Baller of the Year last season, representing the Westfield Blue Devils, a proud Union County program with a lot of history. Well, Saturday at Kehler Stadium, he helped make some of his own, helping his team to a 14-7 win over Ridge, their first since 2017 against the Red Devils.

When debating who to choose for the Week 7 Bellamy & Son Paving Player of the week, I asked by broadcast partner for that game, Justin Sontupe, for his take. "No doubt in my mind Somerville loses without him. He did everything." Surely, it takes a whole team to win. He doesn't do what he did without the offensive line. Or the defense - which he had to be a part of when a cornerback went down - holding a talented Plainfield team in check.

We like it when a Player of the Week nominee does more than one thing. Last Saturday, Matteo Tramutola of Voorhees did four. He may get most of his attention for what he does when he runs the football, but he also plays defense, and punts. Oh, and he plays baseball, too. Last Saturday, he carried 26 times for 154 yards and two touchdowns, with the second giving his team a 21-14 lead in the rain at Governor Livingston, a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
